Affirmations as Resiliency Tools

This blog post is inspired by Bonus Episode 9.5 of the Awaken with Maria Serbus podcast.

I’ve also embedded this episode below because listening to these affirmations is a different experience than reading them or maybe you’d simply like to read while you listen.

We live busy lives. Maybe we feel consumed by our careers or overwhelmed by motherhood or fatherhood. When you create a collection of resiliency tools, you can weather life’s stressors and challenges with more ease.

A tool in my resiliency toolbox is meditation on affirmations. If you want to try this tool yourself, click play on the player above and/or slowly read and take in the steps below/

When you’re ready, take a few calming grounding centering breaths like this:

Inhale through your nose exhale through your mouth like you're blowing out birthday candles. Repeat a few of these breaths.

Repeat these affirmations, either out loud or in your mind, whatever feels right:

I honor my light.

I am enough.

I will protect my energy.

I will take breaks and step away if I need to.

I will rejuvenate with a breath I can ground and recenter myself.

I allow myself to enjoy the small moments of life.

I will show up authentically as myself.

I am light. I am love.

I am just where I need to be.

I attract opportunities.

I harness the energy within.

I am strong.

I am brave.

I soak in the small moments.

My happiness knows no bounds.

I am at peace.

Now take three slow, deep breaths and remind yourself that you can use these affirmations whenever you need to.
